Robert Arthur Smith, my second great-grandfather, was born March 15, 1858 in Georgia. He died December 22, 1936 in Georgia. He was married to Sarah Emily Nobles (1853-1935) about 1878. From 1880 through 1900, he lived in Dooly County, GA. By 1920, he lived in Leslie Village, Sumter County, GA. He was working as a minister in Dooly County in 1900, and later as a Grocer in Leslie in 1920. He and Sarah had four children:
Samuel Arthur Smith was born August 9, 1883 in Dooly County, GA and died June 12, 1962 in Sumter County, GA. He married Dora L. Burnett (1885-1982) on October 23, 1901. Samuel was living in Dooly County in 1900, moved to Baker County, GA by 1910, then was found in Lee County, GA by 1920. Most of his life was spent farming, with the exception of his time in Baker County, where he worked in the turpentine business, apparently with his brother Robert. Samuel and Dora had six children:
